About Cortijo La Calera

The temperature rarely gets too low for comfort. Take in the scents and colours of the gardens or go for a leisurely swim. All the windows in these well-appointed houses have stunning views. Experience endless natural delights in the Sierras always having the scent of the lavender, thyme and sage that edge any track you walk along, the fascinating bird life that changes with the seasons – and after a day out you can return to “La Calera” with its warmth and comfort. Relax on a lounger by the beautiful pool, sit in the sun or in the shade of the ancient carob trees.

Swimming Pool

A spacious terrace of handmade tiles surrounds the huge lagoon shaped pool. 12m x 5m with underwater lighting and built in lounge steps giving easy access to non-swimmers and children. Salt-water fed with a minimum of chlorine, cleaned and checked daily. Shower, poolside loungers, tables, chairs and cushions are provided in both shaded and sunny areas, one of which has an amazing cave, floodlit at night. The owners do not use the pool when guests are staying.

We will shop for you if you are arriving at a difficult hour. Along with the warm welcome we offer you, there’s a welcome pack provided, including wine. Our baker calls daily so fresh bread can be ordered. All houses are cleaned to a high standard before each arrival. Near to the pool area there is a shared utility room/ w.c: an automatic washing machine, iron and board, pool toys, boules, and lounger cushions.
